Magod Falls: Nature at its Best
If you are in the southern state of Karnataka in India, you cannot afford to miss out on the beautiful Magod Falls. It is situated just 17 km from the town of Yellapur in Uttar Kannada district. Other places near to these falls are Sirsi (70km), Shimoga (215km), and Bangalore (500km).
These falls are formed by River Ganagavalli, also known as River Bediti, from a height of 198m. This river starts to fall in a single direction but bifurcates into two leaps in a forest area that looks mesmerizing and arresting. Water falls from a great height into a rocky ravine amidst evergreen dense forests. This is the reason why Magod falls have become a popular tourist destination.
Breathtaking scenic beauty
Magod Falls is a scenic delight for all those who are interested in spending sometime in the lap of the nature. The place is not just a beautiful picnic spot but also offers ideal opportunities for trekking. Though these falls are perennial in nature, water supply dries up in the summer months and gets replenished during the monsoons. This is why the best time to visit Magod Falls is after Monsoon. You can reach Yellapur from Bangalore taking a bus service offered by KSRTC. Once you are in Yellapur, you can take jeep rides to reach the place of the water falls.
